Linzer Landhaus - Arkadenhof with planet fountain - and "Adalbert Stifter monument"
In front of the south portal of the country house,
is a metal ring embedded in the ground.
This is reminiscent of the Pummerin, who in the bell foundry
of St. Florian was poured.
From here Pummerin began her journey to Vienna on April 25, 1952.
The writer, painter and pedagogue Adalbert Stifter,
visited the Stiftsgymnasium Kremsmünster and lived
after a long lasting stay in Vienna until his death in 1886
in a house at the Lower Danube in Linz (Stifterhaus).
Here he worked as a school board member and
in addition to his artistic activity, also earned the preservation of cultural monuments.
The figure of the poet, cast in bronze, sits life-size on a
granite rock specially created from the Bohemian Forest.
The inscription table gives information about the identity and
life data of the sitter.
